Brief description of antiquities:

Witnesses of more than two hundred years ago are historical landmarks Mahendra Roy Chowdhury and Rajendra Roy Chowdhury Kachari Bari in Baufal Upazila Sadar. At present it is known as Upazila Land Office. Rumor has it that the century was two hundred years ago. Dakshina Ranjan Roy came to Chandradwip for business from Sadarpur Baisharshi in Faridpur district. During the reign of Sultan Alauddin Hussain Shah of Gaur in the fourteenth century, Chandradwip ruled over parts of Barisal, Faridpur and Khulna. The Meghna Basin flows through present-day Bhola and Baufal. Chandradwip became the owner of more wealth by finding hidden treasures in the river Tentulia. Roy bought land in the area from the British and got the title of Chaudhary. Dakshina Ranjan Roy has two sons, Mahendra Roy has a big share, Rajendra Roy was recognized in the area as a minor. Chandradwip area started zamindari in Baufal. In order to maintain the zamindari, the area brought people from their own area and started settling. He used to collect rent from the tenants in this area through the tenants.

 

Every year he used to come to the area from Faridpur to collect rent through the tenants and during various Hindu ceremonies including Durga Puja. Lived for months and bites khas. Khas Kamra built two architects in the Upazila Sadar for the main kachari / office. The Upazila Land Office is located on 11.96 acres of land at JL No. 8 Dag No. 1120 and 1121 of Khas Khatian No. 1 of Baufal Mouza. Most of the office houses are located in the old building of the zamindari estate.

 

Zamindar Bari of Mahendra Rajendra Roy on 22 acres of land on the south side of Upazila Sadar Main Road. There are two brick buildings built more than two hundred years ago. About one and a half feet full wall made of one and a half inch bricks. 3 rooms inside. 6 domes with a pair of obstacles in front. In a southern vite. There is a seating area in front of the building on the south side and two elephant enclosures. There is another similar building on the west side. In front there is a high theater with 8 sheds. There would be dramas with jatra-pala sitting here. Various ceremonies were held at the zamindar's house centering on various ceremonies of the Hindu community at the Kachari house. A month-long procession was held especially on the occasion of Durga Puja. Buffalo sacrifices were offered. Month-long rehearsals were given. The zamindar used to sit in front of the two houses and enjoy the ceremony with his family.

 

At that time there were untimely country, Bengali blood tilak, book of society, Kanchan Mala, Bengali judge, Sohraf Rustum Darpahari, Ejid Joynal Uddhar, Bangerbargi etc. Apart from the Jatrapala team from outside the area, Makham Lal Saha, Manoranjan Shil, Rajswar Roy, Ananta Ghosh, Meghnath Ghosh, Chitra Ranjan Saha and Binod Bihari Saha are some of the notable ones who are participating locally. The Kachari house has four walls for security, the present entrance on the east side of the wall is a brick arch, the gate on the north side is the reserve ghat and the gate is on the west side. The brick wall is 10 inches wide and 9 feet high. There are 2 ponds adjacent to this house. The zamindar's house had a pond reserve on the north side. Badhai Ghat on the south side of the pond. The water in this pond was reserved. No one could use it. No one would wash their feet even if they drank water. A large pond on the west side. Which was open to all.
