On 19th March, 2013 Bangabandhu's worthy daughter Hon'ble Prime Minister of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh laid the foundation stone with her own hands to meet the natural challenges of climate change like flood, drought, increase in salinity, waterlogging etc and to achieve food security in the 21st century. Since its inception, it has played a special role in seed production in our national agriculture by producing 33,21,630 (thirty three lakh twenty one thousand six hundred and thirty) kg base seeds of various crops.In other words, the seeds have been used for seed production in 1345 hectre of land which has been used by various contracted farmers, zones of BADC and various private companies to produce at least 33,21,00,000 kg of seeds.
