Details

Dried fish village or Shutki-Polli is situated 1 km west from Kuakata sea beach. Lots of fishermen live here. The preparation of making dried fish is held here mainly from November to March. Fishermen process dried fish on the beach just after catching them from the sea. Good quality dried fishes is also available here at low prices. Tourists gather here to see the process of making dried fishes from fresh fish. They experience the life style of the fishermen, catching hilsa in the see and the friendship between the wave of the sea and their struggle for living. They also witness the fantastic scene of fishing of different species with fence net.
